Time

You know the old saying “time waits for no man…or woman”? Some days it feels like time stretches forever… like when you are in the dentist chair… and other times it feels like it’s flying by at warp speed… like when you are waiting for a warm summer day but while you are waiting, the days keep marching by.

When we are busy, one day seems to flow into the next. I had a VERY BUSY May! It felt like it was over in an instant.

This is why, it’s so important to stop every once in a while, and just BE…

BE PRESENT…TO.. THE NOW MOMENT…IN… THE NOW MOMENT.

We are the only ones that can choose that. To just stop. Breathe. Look around. Take it all in.

This morning, I sat and watched the sunrise kiss the hillside across the lake from my home. As I was journaling, I would stop, look, and be in awe of that moment. Morning has always been my favorite time of the day. Early morning when everything is quiet and still, and the day hasn’t quite started its busy-ness. Sitting outside listening to the birds, herald in the day by their blissful song… can’t beat that!

I have been feeling a slight sense of panic with how quickly the days seem to be marching on. I have something planned for 3 weeks out of this summer, and my mind is already thinking about the summer being almost over when it’s done. Ever do that? Ever miss the thing happening in the NOW, because the mind is focused on something in the past, or something in the future?

Of course you have!!! We ALL DO IT!

So today, right now, I’m going to invite you to STOP… TAKE A NICE LONG SLOW BREATH OR 2… OR 3… OR 4… Then, look outside, or better yet GO OUTSIDE if you can, and LOOK AROUND. Just OBSERVE what you see. BE IN THE MOMENT, BREATHE, OBSERVE, NOTE HOW YOU FEEL.

That’s it.

You just slowed down time.

You have experienced that NOW MOMENT.

Maybe you experienced a few.

Maybe, you feel a little calmer, more settled, grounded, less rushed.

It’s such a small but powerful gift we can give to ourselves anytime really!

Try it, see for yourself. When you FEEL the difference, you’ll KNOW!
